What is the Synod on Synodality?

A Church that journeys together
The Synod on Synodality is a worldwide process initiated by Pope Francis inviting the entire Church — clergy, religious, and laypeople alike — to reflect together on what it means to walk as one. It is not a parliament or a debate, but a prayerful discernment of the Holy Spirit’s call for the Church today.
“In the one People of God, therefore, let us journey together, in order to experience a Church that receives and lives this gift of unity, and is open to the voice of the Spirit.”

LWC’s Response

“We have heard the call of Pope Francis, and the Holy Spirit and have jumped in with both feet!”

As a lay ecclesial community in the Archdiocese of Port of Spain, in collaboration with our missions throughout the Caribbean, we have been working to put together our response to Pope Francis’ call. We invite you to participate with us in this process as we move towards a more synodal Church.
