Rhonda Maingot

Love and Show the World How to Love

Rhonda Maingot, co-foundress of Living Water Community, encountered the Holy Spirit powerfully in March 1975 during what the Church had declared a Holy Year. Though initially skeptical of the Charismatic Renewal, a friend’s persistent invitation brought her to a prayer meeting in Trinidad — and her life was never the same. Through a series of profound spiritual experiences, including a remarkable physical healing from a chronic headache condition, Rhonda heard God’s call clearly and responded with her whole heart, becoming one of the key figures in the founding of Living Water Community.

Rose Jackman

Share the Fruit of your Contemplation

Rose Jackman, co-foundress of Living Water Community, grew up with a deep desire to give her whole life to God. Though she felt called to teaching, she initially discerned a vocation to religious life, spending 16 years with the Convent before God led her in a new direction — out into the world to share the fruit of her contemplation with ordinary people. It was this conviction that a life of deep prayer was possible for everyone that helped lay the foundation of Living Water Community.

History of the Community

History of the
Community

Living Water Community is a Catholic Ecclesial Community founded in Port of Spain, Trinidad in 1975 by Rhonda Maingot and Rose Jackman, who responded to a call from God to “light a fire of love” in the hearts of His people. Today, over 500 covenanted members gather across Trinidad, Barbados, St Lucia and Saba N.A. to share in prayer, worship and Catholic Spirituality.

From this prayer experience flows a desire to serve — expressed through a vibrant ministry to the physically and spiritually poor, and through the Bookstore, Coffee Shop and self-development programmes at our Centre on Frederick Street, Port of Spain.
Frederick Street has been our home since 1981 — a place made alive by dedicated volunteers and made possible by the generosity of our donors, benefactors and supporters.
