New Year’s Message from our Regional Director

Dear Sisters & Brothers

The Season of Christmas is here with all that it brings, from its Advent preparation to the beautiful midnight Mass of celebration recalling that first night when Jesus was born in a manger for us amid the donkey, the oxen, the sheep and the goats in a shepherd’s cave in Bethlehem, because there was no room for him in the busy city due to the enrollment ordered by the Governor.  All these historic memories have passed with all its sentiments of gratitude to God and thanksgiving, and we are now embarking on a new year as we continue with the joyful and peaceful sentiments.

It’s a new year 2020, offering great hope and victory over all that seemed so dark and hopeless.

It’s a new year for trust and confidence in God who has promised to be with us in “Emmanuel”.  A new year as we open our hearts and allow God to fulfill all His desires in us.

A new year when God is doing a new thing making all things new for us, new opportunities, deepening relationships and family bonds.

A new year when those who are depressed and anxious will experience confidence and peace.

A new year when those who have lost faith will find their way back to the heart of their God.

A new year when many of our young people will find fulfillment and vocations, some as professionals, some to the married life and some to the priesthood or consecrated life.

A new year when our senior citizens will be at peace as they count their blessings even as some prepare for the eternal gift of life in heaven.

New in many ways and this is what we at LWC wish for and desire for every person in our country, poor and rich alike.

For us at LWC we look forward to our work for our Chapter 2020 that will infuse us with a fresh breath of the Holy Spirit, bringing new life and grace, through our time of deliberation and conversation as to the future of LWC, as we embark on our 45th Anniversary of existence. For this we want to praise God and bless Him for His faithfulness to us, “what He blesses He

blesses forever”.  May we stay in the abundant blessing of His love.

We begin this year not only with expectation for “newness” but with prayer and trust as on the first day of every new year we celebrate the feast of Our Lady Mother of God, a very ancient feast. Mary is our Mother and Jesus has entrusted us to her care and we can be assured that she loves us and is more than able to care for us her children.  Let us, with open hearts, come to her in prayer that we may be her children trusting under her mantle of protection. So we can sincerely pray, “Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.”

Happy and Blessed new year 2020. Be faithful to Him who loves you.  Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.  He is always near. He loves you…………. Rose
