Message from our Regional Director – November 2019

Dear Sisters & Brothers

There are so many beautiful things happening around us in the midst of all that seems so trying and hopeless for many.  God continues to show up and continues to do wonders in our lives and in the world at large – a God awesome to behold and to trust.  Let us look around and we will see and behold.

Two groups of pilgrimage have returned from Rome, Medjugorje, Jerusalem, Holy Land bringing with them the experience of deepened faith and trust in God’s love and providence.  Every act of faith, every act of devotion, every act of love and charity makes us a better people and a better nation.  Our faith, our devotion, our love, all come together for the transformation and holiness of every person that God loves and creates, bringing about the sacredness of the mystical body of Christ in our midst.  ”When you do it to the least you do it to me” (Matthew 25).

This month the Living Water Community was blessed by a stained-glass window Installed in our hall.  This glass window depicts our name Living Water.  It is based on the meeting of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4).  It is a great point of contemplation and you are invited to come in and spend some time contemplating the mystery of God’s transcending love for us that goes beyond class, colour, creed, and above all, the marginalized.  It is Jesus offering living water to a stranger and notorious sinner: ”If you only knew what God is offering and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me something to drink,’ you would have been the one to ask, and he would have given you living water.”
What a wonderful encounter, it is for this Jesus came into the world, out of love to give us life to the full. Are we open to receive “all that God is offering”?

In response to God‘s promise to give us living water, let us turn to the Lord for the water that we need to heal our lives and satisfy our thirst, to deliver us from the evil of violence and the wild attacks of the evil one seeking to destroy us.  Let us come to the heart of our God and drink deeply, drink freely, drink healing and protection.

At our Center at Living Water, we present this gospel reality.  Come and be filled with the waters of life, come freely.  Let this become for you our well of salvation, our oasis in the midst of all that seems parched and waterless.  Let us be challenged to receive the water of life for the healing of our mind, soul and body.  You can receive this water in our daily Masses, time before the Blessed Sacrament, which is exposed Monday to Saturday for adoration, prayer meetings, ministry to the youth, teachings and seminars, and many other ways of receiving the water of salvation.  All of this is for you to receive freely.

Even in the midst of the busyness of your life, you can find peace in our coffee shop that offers an alternative from the busy world.  Come and drink deeply.  Jesus is waiting at the well for you.  It is for you He came, the love of God made known to us sinners.  May you continue your journey of faith and may you be blessed by the encounter of a God who loves you and wants your peace and eternal happiness.

Have a blessed month of November as we get closer to our Advent preparations……Rose
