Candlelight Procession for Non-Violence
Again this year we dedicated the month of October to NON-VIOLENCE and invited everyone to participate in as many activities as possible. Let us work together to cultivate a culture of NON-VIOLENCE in our society.
Following was the Programme of activities:
Tuesday, October 02 was International Day for Non-Violence and we commemorated this message for the entire month. Our focus was on three themes:
- The Family
- The Environment
- Refugees and Asylum Seekers
There were special ‘live’ broadcasts at 8.00 pm every Tuesday during October on Trinity TV.
Sunday , 07 October – 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm – Interfaith Gathering at LWC Chapel
An Interfaith Gathering in support of International Day of Non-Violence at LWC Chapel, 109 Frederick Street, POS.
Friday, 12 October – 6.00 pm – Candlelight Procession around the Queen’s Park Savannah, POS to pray for peace and non-violence in our Nation and in the world. All were invited to come out to ask Our Lady’s intercession. Wear BLUE.
Friday, 26 October – Candlelight Vigils were organized in various communities to bring hope to the victims of violence.
Daily podcasts were available during the month and on Fridays in October we wore BLUE to be conscious of being non-violent in our thoughts, words and deeds.
